Starting Your Own Subscription Box Business – Week 4
Hey, hey, hey!
Starting your own subscription box business is definitely NO JOKE! Week four of my subscription box business plan, and I feel like I am just slowly chipping away at my to-do list! I am trying REALLY hard not be overwhelmed and looking at where I started just four weeks ago. I have learned so much already!
So…I keep telling myself… 👇
The three things I am focusing on this week are:
- Subscription box sizes
- Learning Kajabi
- Sourcing Products for Subscription Box
AND: Pre-launch Runway – continued several weeks and a part of my daily social media strategy!
I know, I always end up working on more than three things! But it is helpful to have a direction each week!
Subscription Box Sizes
I received some samples from BoxedUp this week! The boxes are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE the mailer boxes and I will definitely go with one of those, just a larger size than the samples I have. You can see the boxes and sizes below. These boxes will have a fun presentation when opening. CrateJoy offers a discount on BoxedUp when you are a member. I have also read really great reviews about Packlane, so I will try to get some sample boxes from there as well! Once I gather more info, I will compare the two companies’ prices and quality.
Learn Kajabi
So, my subscribers are switched over to Kajabi, and I watched help videos and contacted Kajabi about a dozen times, and I am feeling a bit more confident! Just a bit 😉. Kajabi is definitely a learning curve, but I know it will be great for my business! With my subscription box membership, I want to be able to offer more resources online as well as within the box each month! Kajabi will allow me to do this and so much more! Right now, I am really working to understand the piplines that Kajabi offers because I think they will really help the goal of my business and making my subscription box membership a positive and helpful experience for everyone.
In one of my facebook groups, we are starting a little Kajabi help group, since I am not the only one that could us a bit of extra support. We will work through it together!
Product Sourcing
I did not get to this at all yet, but product sourcing is SO important! Continued for sure next week!
Create a Daily/Weekly Schedule
In Airtable, I began working on a daily and weekly schedule. I did not get too far because my scheduled time working is so inconsistent all week. Since I am with my two kiddos all day long, and most nights, I work whenever I can. Rather than a defined daily schedule, I am going to create weekly and monthly goals for myself, specifically listing what it is that I plan to accomplish. This may work much better than a defined schedule!
As you can see, I didn’t get very far in my planning before I realized that this wasn’t going to work for me! You live and learn!
Logo and Branding – More information
I should see the first proof soon!
Action Items
From previous weeks, I will continue to build my pre-launch runway. This won’t be a specified goal each week because it is a continuous process. My goal is to build awareness of myself and my expertise, get ideal ICA’s as followers and email subscribers, and promote my sensory bin products.
Things to focus on next week:
- Continue to figure out how to utilize Social Media to grow awareness of my subscription box business
- Brainstorm where I can source products for my subscription box
- Create weekly/monthly GOALS in order to maximize my time spent working (I am finding that my brain is going in too many different directions and I need to slow down and focus on one thing at a time to be the most productive). I will use Airtable!
- Figure out Kajabi pipelines
- Pre-launch runway!
